Barrick applies a good neighbor policy wherever we operate, starting at the corporate level. Barrick's policy is to give 1% of annual pre-tax income to charitable endeavors. Reflecting the philanthropic values and personal donations of Peter Munk, the company's chairman and founder, significant donations have been made to establish the Centre for International Studies at the University of Toronto as well as a Centre for Research, Innovation and Technology at Technion University in Israel, with the aim of generating world-class research that can be shared with the international community. Barrick's support for health care also includes donations to The Munk Cardiac Centre in Toronto.
