At Barrick, we recognize that we have a responsibility for the safe management of all chemicals used in gold extraction and production. Cyanide has been safely used for decades at our operations around the world. Our cyanide management practices are based on the most stringent safety standards.
We adhere to the principles and standards of practice set out in the International Cyanide Management Code, which covers the lifecycle of cyanide management. Stringent environmental and employee protection systems are in place at all Barrick mines.
