Information for the Holders of Placer Dome 2.75% Convertible Senior Debentures due 2023

As a consequence of Barrick Gold Corporation’s amalgamation with Placer Dome Inc., Holders of the Placer Dome 2.75% Convertible Senior Debentures due 2023 (the “Debentures”) are entitled to receive Barrick "Common Shares" upon conversion of the Debentures.

The Debentures may be surrendered for conversion until and including October 19, 2010, at a conversion rate, effective September 1, 2010, of 40.9378 Common Shares per US$1,000.00 principal amount of Debentures.
