The biennial China Gold Congress, hosted by the China Gold Association, is the country’s largest and most important event focused on the gold sector. This year, Barrick China President Woo Lee joined our partners from Zijin Mining and Shandong Gold, along with China National Gold, for a panel discussion featuring the country’s major gold miners.
In this video, Zijin Mining Executive Director George Fang and Shandong Gold President Li Guohong talk about their experiences working in partnership with Barrick. In addition, China National Gold President Liu Bing discusses his company’s interest in working with Barrick. Thus far, Barrick has entered into strategic cooperation agreements with both Zijin and Shandong. Zijin is Barrick’s partner at the Porgera Joint Venture in Papua New Guinea, while Shandong has formed a joint venture with Barrick at the Veladero mine in Argentina, and is now carrying out an independent study of the nearby Lama project.
