Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo, and is operated by the Pueblo Viejo Dominicana Corporation—a joint venture between Barrick (60%) and Goldcorp (40%).

The mine achieved first gold production in 2012 and completed its ramp up in 2014.
Barrick’s share of gold production in 2015 was 572,000 ounces, at a cost of sales of $904 million (100% basis), and all-in sustaining costs of $597 per ounce.1 Gold production in 2016 is forecast to be 670,000-700,000 ounces (Barrick’s share), at a cost of sales of $630-$660 per ounce, and all-in sustaining costs of $520-$540 per ounce.1
As of December 31, 2015, Barrick's share of proven and probable gold reserves at Pueblo Viejo was 8.96 million ounces2 (93.9 million tonnes, grading 2.97 grams per tonne).
