Barrick prides itself on being a good neighbour and the intended expansion of the Pueblo Viejo operation would increase the life of the mine for approximately 20 years and with it jobs, state revenues and exports, local business support and community infrastructure, providing long term value for all stakeholders.
The letters below serve as Barrick’s responses to accusations made by Earthworks, Global Justice Clinic and MiningWatch Canada in respect of the proposed expansion of the Pueblo Viejo mine in the Dominican Republic. Their deprecations are unfounded and we are making these letters public in order to provide the facts.
